When the padding beneath our original tile roof on our 1946 Spanish Revival house needed to be redone, we got a recommendation from a neighbor for CAL WEST ROOFING. The owner Al Ford gave us four pages of recommendations for roof jobs he had completed. He was also re-roofing a local bowling alley so he must be reliable. I was still worried, but Al is a super nice guy and explained in detail and photos the repairs that were going to be done.

I worried a lot about our historical clay roof tiles but it was really not necessary. Some tiles broke but Al found duplicates for us. While they were repairing the roof, we added a skylight tube to the hallway, and I love the additional light.

So, if you live in Stanislaus County in the lovely Central Valley of California, we recommend Al if you need your roof fixed. He is like a sweet teddy bear and doesn’t get annoyed with women telling him what to do. We liked his work ethic so much that we plan to have him do a minor bath remodel in the near future, as he is also a general contractor.
